Lots on tap this weekend - first was the Twirly Whirly Ball hosted by our gym. Traditionally they've had a Daddy/Daughter dance, but this year they opened it up for the whole family. Usually I have a hockey tournament the same weekend, but since I didn't, I signed us up.
Preparations took most of Saturday afternoon. The girls picked out their hairstyles out of their American Girl hair styling book. Luckily I had plenty of hairpins. We also did mani/pedi's at home.
The girls wore their "Wendy" dresses we got at David's Bridal two years ago, while I sported a new gown purchase. We had a great time dancing to the latest tunes. I got the chance to lead all the kids in a Conga line, and Madeleine has now mastered the Macarena. The staff was impressed by my gown choice, so I'm sporting a tiara too.
Sunday evening we attended our second NCSU Women's Basketball game - their annual Hoops4Hope game to benefit the Kay Yow cancer fund. Now that the girls know their numbers, they were obsessed with the score. Despite the halftime Scotty McCreery performance, the highlight for them was hooking up with Ms. Wolf. (And running into her mom in the elevator).
PS - if anyone out there has any tips on how to exit the parking garage next to Reynolds in less than 45 minutes, please let me know.

Boosterthon
Today the girls' school held an annual fun run fundraiser called Boosterthon. The kids run small laps in exchange for pledges along with their friends. They both completed over 35 laps (the maximum they count) and probably ran/walked/skipped close to 2 miles. I was super proud of them both.
Sorry for the posting lull - after all of the Holiday excitement, it's nice to just take a break and lay low. We had a weekend where both the girls had mystery fevers, so we didn't even really leave the house.
Stay tuned for Valentines Day activities...
